You're looking for an easy way to keep in touch with everyone while being abroad? Digicel Fiji gives you a great option: Digicel Prepaid customers can also use their Digicel mobile number when travelling abroad.
Prepaid Roaming “Roam like you’re home” is a brand new proposition available exclusively to all Digicel Prepaid customers who travel to New Zealand, Australia, and Digicel Pacific (Samoa, Vanuatu, Nauru, Tonga and PNG). All customers on this plan will be able pay local rates as if they are making calls, sending SMS or data browsing in Fiji. Days of high roaming charges are gone and customers are now able to roam more freely.
All the Digicel Prepaid customers can use their phones while overseas. Dual-band phones will work in most countries except the USA and Canada. You will need to use tri-band and quad-band phones in these countries. We recommend that you contact Customer Care before you leave Fiji, to verify that your phone will work in whatever country you are traveling to, and to receive more detailed information about Digicel’s roaming policy.
Follow these easy steps:
- Make sure your Roaming service is activated on your Digicel SIM. Visit a Digicel store or contact Digicel Customer Care on 124.
- Top Up before travelling
- Before departure, find the Network Selection setting in your Digicel mobile phone menu and select Automatic.
- Upon arrival, turn on your phone and allow it to select Digicel’s roaming partner in the country you are visiting.
In some instances, your phone will not automatically select the Digicel roaming partner in the country you are visiting. In these cases, you will have to manually select the roaming partner. To manually select the roaming partner, scroll through the menu options in your phone until you find the Network Selection option, select Manual, and then select the available Digicel roaming partner.
The process for changing a network selection varies for each phone, so we recommend that you refer to your phone’s manual before you depart.
